I have a similar budget, stock block 9.5 deck, 395 inch Ford going together for a customer right now.

AFR 220 Renegades. OTB
Howards hyd roller .628/.651 241/247@.050 294/300 advertised. 112 LC.
Super Victor
AED 950HO
12.1 SCR
Scat 4340 crank and rods
Wieseco PT pistons

Also going in a Fox Body. C4 4800 converter and 3.73 gear.

We were looking to run mid 10's N/A, low 9's on a good plate kit and still street drive it.

I used the bigger 220's on it to take advantage of the nitrous and give him room to build a bigger engine in the future.

I was thinking that would be your choke point... but they flow better than 320 cfm

yeah it could do 600+

In my humble opinion, you will fall short of your 600 hp target. I feel the compression ratio needs to be higher, the camshaft more aggressive, and the carb larger. You didn't mention if the intake has been ported at all. There is room for improvement on the super victor with some time. Keep in mind that the airflow into the engine needs to be calculated through the entire intake tract, not just the head. So many variables that account for making power... I just touched on a few that jumped out at me.

Built one a number of years ago for my S/G roadster (aero27 sun coast)
.040 block so it was 395" approx
Iron TFS high ports (ported 305cfm/238cfm)
Port matched Vic Jr.
AED 950 alky carb
Off the shelf flat tappet solid cam approx .600 lift 270dur @.050- 106
1-7/8" headers
13.0 comp.
Car weight 1996# w/driver
9.21@147 shifting at 6600rpms
That's probably 550hp at best but it was a cheap, consistent and lasted well after I sold the car.
