The LS series Aluminum block engines weigh within 3 lbs of a 13B rotary turbo engine when you factor in the weight of the turbo plumbing. That;s why the LS is such a popular swap into last gen RX7's. Handling isn't affected as nose weight doesn't change.
Really?

Yep. Have done this swap more than once for others. 13B, while having a soft spot in my heart, is unreliable in stock form at elevated HP levels. When they blow(not if)an LS makes more HP stock to stock and is unfathomably more reliable once you turn up the wick a little.

Unless you wanna go into the rotary and do some upgrading. But that isn't what you posted.

Would have thought that engine would weigh in the 250 lb range.

Must be made of Mercury.

id try the Mitsubishi 4G63, just make sure u get a 6-bolt and rock out.

turbo honda b series, but for that kind of power im not sure it can be cheap. 2.3l turbo ford. once again for the power im not sure it will be cheap

Turbo charge a 4200 Trailblazer I-6.

I'm a VW/Chevy guy but I would say the Subaru turbo flat four out of the WRX or the VW Jetta turbo 1.8 five valve. Either one of those will last thousands of miles at the 400 HP mark.

There is a guy in Sacramento with a bone stock VW 1.8 engine in a bug running low tens, all he did was put a bigger turbo and a draw though 4 barrel carb on it.
